It is also here that he met with the leaders of what was Europe at the time.

BETWEEN EAST AND WEST

Pic 1

Welcome to the trail of MILITARY adventures, where you will have the opportunity to see the most fascinating relics and military architecture, which have been built over many centuries. We'll see, among other things, nineteenth century fortresses, tunnels and bunkers that, to this day, hide many mysteries from World War II. We will have the unique opportunity to see with our own eyes the warehouse of Soviet nuclear missiles and their launchers. Although the Soviet Union has constantly denied distributing and setting up nuclear weapons in Central Europe, the fact is that hundreds of them were aimed at Western Europe and Allied Countries. The programme centers around the World War II and Cold War era, we will also have the chance to see artifacts from different time periods.

GIANT BUNKERS

Pic 2

Hitler liked personally leading his armies and overseeing his troops on the Eastern and Western European fronts. It was decided to build the headquarters of the leader of the Third Reich to allow him to do so. These were reinforced concrete bunkers with 4-6m thick walls and ceiling up to 8m thick as well as railway shelters large enough to hold an entire train. The greatest of these command centres was erected in East Prussia (now Masuria district in Poland) in preparation for Operation "Barbarossa" the war with the Soviet Union. The bunker was given the code name "The Wolf's Lair". No one thought that Hitler may have been in any danger in those well-guarded and secured facilities and yet it was here that one of the greatest assassination attempts on the Fuhrer's life took place ("Operation Valkyrie").

MYSTERIES OF WWII

Pic 1

During a war, each side tries to gain an advantage over the other through various ways: arsenal, outnumbering troops and secret intelligence. Both sides worked intently to crush their opponents with one final blow such as the V1, V2 rockets and the Enigma. What else have those armies and scientists quietly created in their dark, underground territories? Jet fighters, flying saucers, nuclear weapons - or perhaps something much scarier?

FROM THE 19th CENTURY TO THE COLD WAR

Pic 2

Development in the last 100 years has been incredible and it is the technological progress that has led to a change in warfare. Until the beginning of the twentieth century, fortresses and trenches were barriers that were nearly impossible to break through. The evolution in construction, engineering and aviation made these fortresses an easy barrier to overcome for invading armies. The evermore modern equipment - tanks, aircraft, submarines and radars - forced military strategists to develop new ways of defending their armies and civilians.
